Woodstock

Woodstock was a music festival that occured in upstate New York in 1969. There were over 500,000 guests ranging from anti-war advocates, to anti-drug advocates, to war vets, to drug advocates. There was little or no sanitation, and little or no sleep. The government officials couldn't handle anything with this, so it was 3 days of pure chaos. There were 2 deaths, but there were also 2 births. There was more than a few drug busts, but on a positive note, the music just kept flowing no matter what happened. The likes of Jimi Hendrix, Sly and the Family Stone, Janis Joplin, The Greatful Dead, The Who, and Santana performed. Jimi Hendrix's performance of "Voodoo Child" was named 11th on Rolling Stones' list of the greatest solos of all time. 5

Personal Computer

In the 1970's and 1980's, personal computers were on the rise. With the growing need to access information at any time, it was extremely important to do something about the computer. It has been so incredibly innovational to every aspect of the modern life. Think about it, if we didn't have that first IBM computer, then we wouldn't be able to have iPods, or digital cameras, or music on our cell phones. We wouldn't have DVR, or the Xbox. So much has changed since a higher level of technology was brought into the everyday household. I can't imagine living without a computer in my house, or even a cell phone or iPod. Life wouldn't be nearly the same if it weren't for that first computer, or the internet.5

1980's Fashion for Women

In the 1980's, women were very into skin baring clothing and big hair. Lots of make up was worn, and mini skirts were barely there. Skinny jeans or leggings were the choice pants, and as far as shirts go, you were one extreme or the other- belly baring, or oversized. Mullets, or just big, pouffy hair was very "in" along with big, chunky jewelery and bright makeup. For older women, shoulder pads became a neccessity, and very sophisticated dress was the way to be. For casual wear, what would now be considered "aerobics" wear was their everyday dress. Some of the popular brands were Izod, and Calvin Klein.5

Packers

After Vince Lombardi died in 1970, the Packers were on a downward spiral. They had a few good years thrown in there between 1970 and 1992, but, overall, it was kind of a disaster. In 1972, they won their first division title since 1967, and then their good streak died out. They did rebound and win the superbowl in 1993 though.5
